With more than three decades of existence, the Heritage Research Support Fund (FAIP)
of the Servicio Nacional del Patrimonio Cultural (National Cultural Heritage Service, Chile) has generated a significant body of knowledge that emerges directly from the work of the institution’s professionals. Its cognitive structure and scientific practices reflect a territorial distribution that expresses the material imprint of heritage collections and forms of collaboration that allow access to external resources and local knowledge. Thus, the FAIP configures a research modality that promotes the enhancement and education of heritage, which are fundamental to its continuity and vitality.

Con más de tres décadas de trayectoria, el Fondo de Apoyo a la Investigación Patrimonial
(FAIP) del Servicio Nacional del Patrimonio Cultural (Chile) ha generado un acervo relevante de conocimientos que emergen directamente del quehacer de los profesionales de dicha institución. Su estructura cognitiva y prácticas científicas reflejan una distribución territorial que expresa la impronta material de las colecciones patrimoniales y unas formas de colaboración que permiten acceder a recursos externos y conocimientos locales. Así, el FAIP configura una modalidad de investigación que promueve la puesta en valor y la educación en torno al patrimonio, fundamentales para su continuidad y vitalidad.
